Owlie 2.0 Crochet Along
Made for the droolers, the doubters, and the brave beginners ready to join the Sunshine circle.
The Sunshine Owl, reworked and refreshed with new stitches to celebrate our 10 year anniversary in Sunshine Land.
The beauty of the pattern is that if you’re not so into owls, you can simply leave the eyes and beak off, and make a gorgeous little mandala blanket instead, or make one of each 😉

Why you'll love this
This is the absolute, perfect project for those who sit drooling at other Sunshiners finished makes but are too scared to try, “cos I could never do that!” Or maybe you’ve dipped your toes into my patterns, and you’ve conquered Briar Rose, but you’re still a bit nervous, then this is for you.
For beginners who are looking to expand their abilities. You will learn lots of new stitches, all of them just so happen to be by favs and are stitches that I use in all of my patterns. You’ll learn some new techniques, and you can work your way through the pattern with full tutorials in the prelude. For the more complicated stitches and techniques, our fabulous video fairy and the amazing Sunshine assist fairies are there to help at the click of a button.
The blanket is also a great way to bust some of your stash, but if you loooooove my colours, we have got stunning Colourspun yarn kits available so you can unashamedly copy me lol, available via the Hooked on Sunshine website.
Crochet Along Info
The pattern is released as a CAL, which means that a bite-sized chunk of the pattern is released each week. The idea is that we all Crochet-A-Long together, and the best way to do this is in the Hooked on Sunshine Facebook group. This gives a great sense of community while working through the pattern and is great fun. Bite-sized chunks are also a lot easier if you’re a beginner or a little nervous. The pattern gives a few rounds each week that are manageable rather than being totally overwhelmed by a huge blanket pattern all at once.
- The Prelude is released into libraries on Friday, 27th of February 2026
- Part 1 is released into libraries on Friday, 6th of March 2026.
- Thereafter, you will receive a part once a week, released on Fridays.
- The border will be released on Friday 1st of May 2026.
